Return & Warranty

General Policy
These are swdoit.com’s (“Southwestern Detail Oriented Information Technology, LLC”, “we” or “our”) Standard Return Policies.

  • All services provided are non-refundable.  Store credit may be issued at the discretion of our Customer Service Department. 
  • Any return for a refund may be subject to a 15% restocking fee.
  • A box must be inspected for shipping damage upon receipt.  Delivery must be refused immediately by the recipient if the order is damaged or incomplete.
  • Products that are not eligible for return and will be sent back to you at your cost and expense if received by us:
    • Any product not purchased from Southwestern Detail Oriented Information Technology, LLC or swdoit.com
    • Any product without an attached receipt or valid invoice or order number
    • Any product without all original labeling
    • Any product without a valid, readable serial number, including but not limited to products with missing, damaged, altered, or otherwise unreadable serial number
    • Any product that is returned without all original packaging and accessories, including the retail box, manuals, cables, and all other items originally included with the product
    • Any product from which the UPC code has been removed from its packaging
    • Any product that exhibits physical damage
    • Any product for which you have submitted a mail-in rebate

Mail-In Rebate Policy
Any product offering a mail-in rebate is not returnable to Southwestern Detail Oriented Information Technology, LLC  once the rebate has been filed. Be sure that the product is functional and that you intend to keep the product before sending in for your rebate. Products missing UPC codes or serial numbers from the box are NOT returnable. Only the product manufacturer can replace a defective item missing the UPC code.

Manufacturer Promotional Items
Manufacturers may offer free promotional items with their products. For example, a video card may come with a free game or a Blu-ray player may come with a free Blu-ray disc. To receive a full refund on a purchase that offers promotional items all items must be returned. The cost of any promotional items not returned will be deducted from the refund total.

Out-of-Stock (Back-Order) Items
If we no longer carry an item that is sent in for replacement, or if that item is simply out of stock, we will notify you that we can send you a comparable replacement item, or we can issue you a refund for the product. A refund may not exceed the original invoice price, and a written request for a refund or exchange must be submitted within 15 days or receipt of the product.

Quantity Purchases & Custom Orders
While we will provide a quantity of ten (10) or more of any given item in our inventory on a single purchase order, and we will provide customized special order products and solutions, please understand that both orders of that size and special orders, once purchase is completed, are automatically non-refundable. All other specific conditions related to the ordered items still apply, including any and all stipulations relative to any available replacement return policies. Standard Return Policy

This is our Standard Return Policy. Any other written notices specific to any product or product category may supersede this policy. Items covered by this policy must be returned within 30 days of the invoice date for this policy to apply. “Return” constitutes receipt of the product by Southwestern Detail Oriented Information Technology, LLC.

Consumable Item Refund Only Return Policy

  • Return for refund within: 30 days (only if unopened)
  • Return for replacement within: Non-Replaceable
  • Restocking Fee: Yes

This is our Consumable Item Refund Only Return Policy. Items covered by this policy (those products for which we state "This item is consumable") must be returned within 30 days of the invoice date for this policy to apply. “Return” constitutes receipt of the product by Southwestern Detail Oriented Information Technology, LLC.

Software Standard Return Policy

  • Return Retail Software for refund within: 30 days (must be unopened)
  • Return OEM Software for refund within: non-refundable
  • Return Defective (Retail or OEM) Software for replacement within: 30 days

This is our Software Return Policy.  Items covered by this policy (those products for which we state "Retail Software" or "OEM Software" ) must be returned to within 30 days of the invoice date for this policy to apply. Products covered by this return policy may only be returned for a replacement of the same or equivalent item. “Return” constitutes receipt of the product by Southwestern Detail Oriented Information Technology, LLC. 

Computer Standard Return Policy

  • Return for refund within: 30 days (must be unopened)
  • Return for replacement within: 30 days

This is our Computer Return Policy. Items covered by this policy are only items carried in inventory which do not have other terms specified.  Items ordered on demand, once purchase is completed, are automatically non-refundable. Items covered by this policy must be returned within 30 days of the invoice date for this policy to apply. “Return” constitutes receipt of the product by Southwestern Detail Oriented Information Technology, LLC.

Manufacturer's Warranties

  • Return for refund within: non-refundable
  • Return for replacement within: non-replaceable

Southwestern Detail Oriented Information Technology, LLC does not offer any express warranties. However, many of the products that we provide are covered by Manufacturers' Warranties. Manufacturers' warranty details are typically available at the manufacturer's website. Detailed manufacturer warranty information can also be obtained for free by contacting our Customer Service department. We will provide support for objects covered by Manufacturers' Warranties under our normal rates, and handle warranty exchange (passing along any applicable fees) at your request. Please note that products in this category are non-refundable unless otherwise indicated.

Products that state "This item can be returned to the product manufacturer only" must be returned directly to the product manufacturer for repair or replacement, unless otherwise required by law. For these items, the warranty policy provided by the product manufacturer explicitly requires that any returns, repairs etc. be requested and processed directly by the consumer (or "end-user") of the item.

Services Limited Refund Only Return Policy

  • Return for refund within: 15 days
  • Return for replacement within: non-replaceable

Refunds for payments made for Managed Services Plans and Remote Support Credits which are not marked as "Non-Refundable" must be requested in writing within 15 days of the invoice date for this policy to apply. 


The following applies for returns or exchanges:

  • A written request for return or exchange must be submitted in writing within 15 days of receipt of the product, this request must include:
       - Any applicable invoice number or part number
       - Contact information
       - A reason for return or exchange 
  • A new, unopened product can be returned within 30 days of the invoice date for a full refund. No restocking fee will be charged. However, customer will be responsible for the return shipping cost unless the return is due to a SWDOIT error.
  • An opened product that is free from defects in materials or workmanship can be returned (in new condition with original product packaging) within 30 days of the invoice date for a refund, subject to a restocking fee of up to 25% of the purchase price and related shipping expenses, all at SWDOIT’s sole discretion.
  • The product, including the shipment box, packaging and all accessories, must be in original condition. Avoid making any markings or writing on the box.
  • Some items are non-returnable, including software, custom labels and opened supplies.

The following conditions are not acceptable for return, and will result in the merchandise being returned to you:

  • Any product that has been found to be damaged due to physical abuse or misuse
  • Any product that is returned without all original packaging and accessories, including the retail box, manuals, cables, and all other items originally included with the product
  • Any product that exhibits physical damage
  • Any product for which you have submitted a mail-in rebate
  • Any special order product
  • Any product that is returned with markings or writing made by customer on the original box

DOA Policy

If a product arrives Dead On Arrival (DOA), contact us immediately. Most products (excluding software and consumables) can be returned if DOA within 30 days of invoice. DOA merchandise must be returned with all original packaging and accessories for the return to be accepted. Full refunds are only given to non-functional products. Customer is responsible for shipping costs on returned items.
